Annual closing 2022

Dec 20, 2022

What an exciting year for the Foundation. One success story after another. By the end of 2021, it was already clear that Dina would be the Diyi for Kids Stiftung’s campaign face at the 13th Berlin Foundation Week. At the start of the Foundation Week in April, she also represented the Diyi for Kids Stiftung at a panel discussion and was accompanied by Ergin, who answered all the questions of the visitors. For our foundation, this media attention was a good opportunity to present ourselves in the Berlin foundation landscape. If you are interested, you can read more about the campaign in this blog post.

At the 6th International Founders’ Meeting in Dresden in June, Dina and Ergin not only made valuable contacts with other founders, but also actively learned about the Plan project. The donation target for the project “Safe learning in remote mountain regions of Nepal” was reached early and therefore we have already chosen a new Nepal project, which we will support starting this year.

The preparations for a charity boutique in the context of a private birthday party were in full swing during the summer. On September 17, the time had come and we were able to raise € 1,500 for our projects.

Finally, we were able to participate in this year’s Alt-Rixdorf Christmas Market in Berlin, where we raised 3,050 € for the projects of the Diyi for Kids Foundation through the sale of Diyi cuddly things. Of course, we will start knitting already in summer. If you also feel like contributing your knitting passion to us, feel free to get in touch.

In addition to social attention during the Berlin Foundation Week, active foundation work at markets, we continued to invest in our social media channels. Our focus was particularly on LinkedIn, where we were able to increase our visibility in the corporate environment.

Excitement is building and it should be no secret after such a great foundation year that we have the highest donation distribution in our foundation history. We are proud to pass on the following donations in accordance with our statutes:

Bürgerstiftung Berlin – 1.500 € – Our local Berlin project is “Leselust”, which uses this donation to support volunteer reading mentors in Berlin daycare centers and elementary schools.

ROTE NASEN Deutschland e.V. 1.500 € – “Joy and hope for people in need” is the name of our Germany project, where we support clown visits. This year, Dina also participated in a clown visit to the refugee shelter in Haus am Schwalbenberg.

Plan International 3.150 € – The donation goal of our Nepal project “Safe learning in remote mountain regions of Nepal” was reached. Therefore we decided to start a new Nepal project “Vocational future and work for young people”. 550 young women and men participate in training courses in which they acquire professional qualifications and entrepreneurial knowledge for their professional life and the labor market. The aim is to strengthen their career prospects and self-confidence. More information on our new project will follow shortly.

The regular foundation expenses for, e.g. website hosting and maintenance, fundraising as well as the foundation administration including the preparation of the balance sheet, we have financed also in 2022 from the general donations and from our own funds.

We thank all Diyi donors and friends for such a successful year and wish you a merry and joyful Christmas!
