An essential fundraising pillar for the Diyi for Kids Foundation is the active foundation work at markets. In recent years, this could not take place or only to a limited extent due to the pandemic. However, this year we were delighted to be a part of the Alt-Rixdorfer Christmas Market in Berlin.
This non-commercial Christmas market in the heart of Neukölln has existed for 50 years, and its proceeds go to a good cause. This year, the German Environmental Aid awarded the market for its exemplary reusable concept. It was possible to save 1.2 tons of packaging waste and 2 tons of CO2 over the 3 days.
We from Diyi for Kids were there and could inspire many visitors with our self-knitted cuddly hats, scarves, socks and much more. Also Susanne and Lena, who kept their headband and cap for the market visit directly.
Our special thanks go to all the many helpers: Without your time-donations we could not have managed the market! And yes, we will register again next year!
