Our Sponsored Children
Help with a Sponsorship
We have also been sponsors with Plan International for over 20 years. Sponsorship can improve the living conditions of children and their families by helping them to help themselves. The ultimate goal is to support people in the project areas to overcome their problems independently and stand up for their interests. Together with many local helpers, we provide assistance to help people help themselves.
Here you can see impressions of our sponsored children around the globe:
Diya from Nepal
We have been sponsoring Diya since August 2013. She is now 12 years old and attends school. Plan International has ambitious plans for Diya’s home community of Makwanpur. The focus of the collaboration is on maternal and newborn health, improved access to clean drinking water, hygiene programs, and improving learning methods and the learning environment.
You can find the full project report here.
Dina visited Diya in Nepal in 2015. You can find the report here.

Former Godchildren
Karen aus Peru
We were able to sponsor Karen for eight years. She is now 15 years old and lives with her parents in the Piura region of Peru.
Plan International has achieved its goals in Piura and is withdrawing from the region after 19 years of project work. Initially, the focus was on improving the education and health infrastructure as well as water and sanitation services. The second phase was more long-term and concentrated on promoting quality education and a lasting positive impact on girls, boys, and their families. Six classrooms were built, five school libraries were equipped, computers were introduced, over 200 teachers were trained, and over 5,000 girls and boys were taught entrepreneurial skills. Karen was one of these girls, and we believe that one day she will run her own small farm.

Linh aus Vietnam
We received the first letter from Linh’s mother when she was two years old. She is now eleven and attends one of the community schools nearby that Plan International helped to build. Linh is a very good student and knows exactly what she wants to be when she grows up: a teacher! Dina was able to see this for herself during a visit to Linh’s community in 2010.
The core areas of work in Linh’s community are education, health, basic services, and the observance of children’s rights. We are very pleased that the long-term goals have been achieved and that Plan International has therefore completed its work in this area in 2013. We are very proud to have accompanied Linh and her family on their journey and wish them a future full of opportunities!
