Tradition at Christmas time – €1,700 for our children’s projects at the Alt-Rixdorf Christmas market

Dec 11, 2023

The traditional Alt-Rixdorf Christmas market takes place every year on the 2nd weekend in Advent. Over 200 non-profit organizations exhibit their handmade unique items or serve food to visitors. The atmosphere at this Christmas market is very special. The market operator, the Neukölln district office, pays great attention to detail to create a Christmassy atmosphere. Petroleum lamps for the market operators, illuminated Advent stars and, of course, a sophisticated reusable concept are special features of the Alt-Rixdorf Christmas market this year.

Despite the S-Bahn strike and rainy weather, many Berliners came to the market and we were not only able to sell our well-known cozy warm hats and headbands at the Diyi stand, but also many products such as candles, potholders, Christmas tree ornaments and knitted socks made by Diyi volunteers.

At the end of the 2nd Sunday in Advent, we were able to transfer €1,700 to the children’s projects of the Diyi for Kids Foundation. A complete success that would not have been possible without the great efforts of all the helping hands. Thank you very much for your time donations!
